So now I guess the other Teos in the family tree finally got into the blogging phenomenon. I thought my blog was cool and great or maybe the layer of skin on my face is made of some thick and elastic material. Well... i thought so till I saw my bro's and cousin's blogs. Filled with nicely taken pictures and interesting comments.
Being one of the senior members of our generation, the feeling of insecurity and the thought of being challenged by the juniors kinda ticked me off. Just you wait kids. More articles and pictures coming up. Stay tuned and keep up the good work guys!
Finally, my boring holidays are over. Went back to my condo and started preparing for a brand new semester. Life would never be the same again. Its been a four long months of industrial training. Although life then was sickeningly boring, it was stress free. No studies, no books and laughing at my struggling housemates really made my day. Now, its back to a sem full of subjects, projects and studying. Urgh! I just wanna have fun and do what I want. When am i gonna win a lottery?
Anyway, this semester seems rather relaxing as I have only one subject and a final year project. Classes are only on Monday to Wednesday with 2 hours daily. Planned to earn some extra bucks during the weekends as my spending capacity increased amazingly lately. Urgh. Must be influence from my shopping queen, Eve.
After anaconda 2 and the terminal, I watched Chronicles Of Riddick. Some crap show where the hero just won't die, act cool and just kick ass. Another lousy show...
Played some mahjong...'cha-hu' once....enough to entertain my gang for a few nights...
Went to the cybercafe just now, played Counter Strike. Played the role of a wild boar where everyone tends to gun down. Pretty sad game....
And mom kicked me out of bed by 10am. Urgh~! 6 hours of sleep on a holiday??
Was dragged downstairs to the kitchen and was shown a big basin filled with turnips, carrots and other ingredients needed to make my mom's famous popia which was sooo everly delicious. Remembering that I was the one who made all the noise about eating them, I started peeling of the turnip's skin and started gratting them into fine pieces. Then followed the carrots and peeling of onions that made me weep. Urgh~! Took us the whole morning with me being the chef apperentice and my mom the head chef. By noon, it was all done.
Food never tasted that good. I guess all the hard work paid off. I had about 20 popias that day. Such gluttony. And right after lunch, I returned to my labirinth to continue my endless slumber.
Live in Kluang can be summarized in one word ~ Boredom!
The only thing I enjoy here is my moms cooking. Besides that the only things I do around the house is reading the papers, LOTR- ROTK novel, magazines and watching pirated Vcds.
Watched Anaconda-Curse of the Blood Orchids (something like that). Well, as its title states clearly, I shall not eleborate on its story. Watched the Terminal starring Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta Jones. A pretty good show I would say and I enjoyed it much more than some fat snake movie. Got Bourne Supremacy and Chronicles of Riddick on queue. Cant blame me on the pirated VCDs as this freaking place doesnt even have a cinema.
Life in Kluang really makes my blog dull and empty. Sigh~!
Anyway, I had a dream last nite. Dreamt of old times when I was playing basketball with all my friends in high school. It was raining and I could only remember two of my friends whom I havent seen in ages. Wonder if the dream was some sort of sign. The dark clouds, heavy rain and my two friends. Hope not.
I guess I just passed through another stage of my life...
Just turned 21 but somehow I feel as if im not ready for adulthood. I still feel as if Im a child. Running around and playing and not giving a care about the world. Boy, am I going to miss those times. Better start planning my life soon. Not gonna end up as a vine. Crawling around without direction. Had a chat with dad the other day about me turning 21.
Dad: So, ure finally turning 21 huh son?
MJ: Yea. Pretty fast huh.
Dad: So, you want the golded key that marks ure freedom?
MJ: Haha I would prefer a key to a condo.
Dad: Sorry son, the closest thing I can get u is a condom.
MJ: .....
On my birthday, Eve treated me to the ever delicious victoria secrets food. Hmmmm.....victoria station i mean. I had the juicy medium done T-bone Steak that melted in my mouth while Eve had half a lobster baked deliciously and topped with cheese and a small portion of steak. The food was marvelous and the atmosphere was great. At the end, the crew of Victoria Secret sang me a Birthday song and luckily they didnt sang it the way Neo and I sang unchained melody. They were pretty good. It was a splendid night. Thanks again my darling Eve for the wonderful dinner.
Somewhere in the Southern province of Afrika, a native tribesman kneels down and touches the earth. The ground was so dry, it cracked. No crops could be grown and all the wells and water holes in the land had long dried up. He looked at the sky and his face lightened up all of a sudden. Dark rain clouds started to gather from the East. Soon enough, the sky was pitch dark and the first drop of rain fell. The moment it touched the ground, it was devoured by the earth who was so ever thirsty and dehydrated. This followed by more beads of rain and soon it became a downpour. The tribesman was elated and started bowing down and repeatedly thanked the gods over and over again.
The gods...
Little did he knew that the rain was summoned by a group of "beings" whom he never knew existed.
In a small room numbered 38, located in the buzy town of Sunway, this "beings" were performing the summoning rituals. They were singing at the Karaoke there and having a time of their life. The gang - Meiseen, Layin, Jon, Neo, Lobak, Kuan Fong, Eve and MJ were singing their lungs out to the famous hits of today, yesterday and tomorrow. All in trance mode, they screamed and wailed, spoiling and downgrading award winning songs and making the song writers weep. Little did they know that they made the Heavens weep and these tears fell to the earth as rain causing people in the southern province of Afrika to rejoice.
......
Okie okie...I'm now back in hometown and I have nothing to do! Let me entertain myself okay?
How would u define a civilized man? Civilized from the way one thinks, or civilized from the terms of technology?
In my opinion, most of the occupants of my condominium are only civilized in the terms of technology.
Late last night, there was a power failure in the block. No power, no technology. Instantly, most of the occupants started de-volving (hmmm...wonder if there is such a word, but what im trying to say is the opposite of evolving). They started turning back to primates and started howling and screaming. Uncivilized.
Thanking god that I didnt devolve, I enjoyed the cool night breeze and slowly dozed off.
One of the highly anticipated movie of the year turned out rather disappointing.
The movie was pretty good at first. THe predator, using advanced technology and brute strength, battling the Aliens, which were agile and sly. However, it was the plot that spoilt everything.
Overall, the fight scenes were pretty cool but there were way too little action scenes. It was a rather short movie and as I said the plot, was disappointing. They managed to preserve the style and strength of the aliens but made the impression of predator weaker than what it actually is. However, it is still a must watch for AVP fans.
It was a dark day. Funnily, the sun shone brightly as usual providing energy to life.
Suprisingly, today i stepped in the office 10 minutes earlier before work started. A rare occasion. My internship is ending in 3 days and i rarely reached the office on time. Throughout the whole internship, i guess i only made it in time less than 5 times. However, today i was early. A rare occasion.
However, instead of being greeted by the normal greeting "Teo, free ar? Start doing this client!", I was greeted by a weak smile. Told me that Haran, my supervisor, just got in an accident. The next moment, two of my collegues returned from the scene. When asked on the situation, one of them just shook his head. Silence filled the room.
The atmosphere in the office was down. Everyone were in the state of shock. Some of the Team Leaders were coming in and out with their handphones ringing non stop.
My mind flashed back to the first time he called me up for an interview. And during our first meeting, I thought that he was just one of the workers there. He was dressed in jeans and t-shirt. Little did i know that he was the senior supervisor there. His appearance didnt show his position. But the way he commanded and ran the company was admirable. He was only 26 but everyone respected and heeded his orders.
Life could be really fragile from certain angles. One day you couldnt be having fun and the next day, you'll only remain a memory. Therefore, one should always live a life without regrets. You'll never know when ure flame goes off.
CYBERJAYA: Time flies and its now time again for the long anticipated championship of the year, the B2-7-11 Mahjong Championship 2004. Defending champion, Laurent Yew from Penang is confident of defending his title. Laurent, 21, said that nothing in the world is going to stop him from retaining his title. Familiar faces could be seen at the tournament. The infamous Neo the damned was there for a comeback. "I may have lost the last championship but vengeance would be mine. Vengeance would be sweet!" MJ, known as the middle man in the last championship was there for a passive game. Super substitute, Jon da God was there as well.
With the fans roaring and emotions running high, the championship began. Every participant gave it their best. Using their luck at their best and the their brains to outwit their opponent. Many highly ranked moves were executed such as the 3 Heavens, The Dragon, Heaven's Will and many more. With neither opponent giving in, MJ who was suffering from fatique from a basketball match was forced to retire. Super Sub Jon came in.
At the end of the game, all skills and luck proved to be evenly matched. Many hours had been spent but the winner could not be determined. It was a Stalemate. Therefore, a rematch had been decided to determine the champion. Be prepared for the rematch of the century, The Prince Of Mahjongs. Stay tuned.
But recently I feel in love with angels. They are really beautiful. I felt blessed to be so close to them. Their graceful movement made me feel as if time stopped. I could spend hours gazing at them and admire their beauty.
However, I guess that angels never meant to be with us humans. So, one fine day, they left me. One by one, they flew back to heaven.
Okie, lets cut the crap. My Angel FISHES were beautiful. Pretty greedy fishes. Would all rush at me whenever I come back from work hoping that I would feed them. There was this particular Angel Fish which had a lot of black stripes. It always looks at me as if it was saying "What you looking at, punk?" Felt like impaling it to stick.
Anyway, I bought another few angels recently and after I introduced them to the tank, my fishes became inactive and lethargic. Soon, they started dropping dead one by one. Now all are dead. Damn those infected fishes. Even my other fishes are infected. Been collecting dead bodies and flushing them down the toilet bowl daily. Felt like an undertaker performing some "hydro-cremation".
They were beautiful when they were still alive and swimming around.
My colleague just told me about how his sister almost got conned...
She was in KL when she was approached by a Chinese man. Neatly dressed and decent looking. He approached her with a pathetic face. Started to relate his story where his ATM card was swallowed by the machine and he was desperately waiting for his dad to bank in cash for him. So he asked her if he could borrow her handphone to call his dad in China using his own SIM card. He tried calling but then no one answered. So...he came up with an idea saying that he will ask his dad to bank in his money into her account and later get it from her.
Thats when everything started sounding like some bullshit. So, my colleague's sis started becoming suspicious and tried getting out of the situation. When she asked back for her handphone, he said he still wants to use it. She quickly demanded it back with some excuse and walked away.
Basically, its quite a lame con job. Would rate it a 3/10 points. However, two of her friends were also approached by this same guy. One of them got too distracted by the topic that she forgot to take her hp back. The other one kept asking questions and the conmen kept replying "I dunno" and walked away.
To all those out there, if approached by these people, just try repeating after every word he says. He'll definitely go away.
I was happily shopping in Mid Valley when my handphone chirpped. It was Jon, my daily aquarium status reporter. He reported that he found one dead angel fish in my tank. Didnt sound remourseful at all. The report was accompanied by the laughter of all my crappy housemates at the background. Damn!
When I reached home, scouted around my tank and saw another 3 dead fishes. One of every species. Sad sad ... Wonder wat happened. Noticed that one of the angels had a disease where its fin was rotting. I guess it must be those new fishes I bought from Dengkil. Crap! No wonder they were cheaper. Did a 50% water change and added some salt. Hope the rest would be spared from this outbreak.
I still remember the time when I went to the arcade illegally 10 years ago to play KOF 94. It was a great game back then.
Year by year, Ive been playing this game till 2002 where SNK handed it over to a Korean company. It became pretty bad and I lost interest in it.
Yesterday, I was in the shopping mall when I saw a new KOF series. King of Fighters Maximum Impact. A PS2 version and it is in 3D. It looked pretty cool so i decided to give it a try.
The game is really really cool. The best KOF ive played in this ten years. They implemented some changes to it where its now slightly like Tekken. Anyway, it's really cool and is a must play for KOF fans.
It was a Sunday morning. The day God rested after creating the world. Even God had a day off. On my Sunday morning, I was kicked out of bed as early as 8am. Im normally not even up by 8.30am on a working day when work begins at 9am.
Changed to my dirty clothes and packed some soap and shampoo. And off we went to maximise the usage of our Cyberia resident card. We reached the gym and it was empty. Perfect! We switched on the air-conditioner and started doing some warm up and stretching. Continued playing around with the machines there. Not bad. Sweated quite a lot. It's been a while.
After that we went to the sauna. Only now i know the difference between sauna and steam-room. The last time I almost dried up in the steam room. It was hard breathing in the hot steam and felt as I lacked of oxygen to breath. The sauna was different. The temperature was wasnt really that high. The termometer there read 30 degree celcious. But sweat flowed out from my body like no business. It felt good. The cold bath soon after that made it perfect.
Having a great workout early in the morning made our stomachs growled like the ferocious dingos at the Outback. So off we went for dimsum. Its been a while since i last had dimsum. Ate like there was no tomorrow. Ended up, two of us ate about forty bucks. Insane. Yeah...all the work out in the morning gone with the wind. But it was good! Makes me feel like going again. Haha
Having eating all those food, guilt started building up in us. So we decided to go for a walk to burn all those consumed calories. We carried some weights to enhance our excercise. These weights aren't any ordinary weights. These weights increase gradually in time. The longer we trekked, the heavier it got. So, all equipped and ready. We started our trekking. Wonder if i spelt that right. Before we knew it, we trekked for 9 hours straight without rest. The weights were now really heavy and I suffered blisters and pain in our feet. I was really exhausted and my lips were dry and cracked from dehydration. Evelyn was still cool and enthusiastic. Her stamina was superb. If only I could be like her.
Oh, I forgot to mention. We were trekking in Sg. Wang, Low Yat and Lot 10.
Havent been playing games in a while. But started picking it up a few days back. With all the hoo-haas about doom3, I had to check it out.
Installed and loaded the game.
Reminds me of the time I played AVP2. Used to scream when the aliens pop out from no where. Only this time, better graphics, eerier environment and cooler guns. It 's as good as they say it would be. All the anticipation for it was worth it. It rocked!
For gamers out there, it is a must play!
. . . .
Damn it! Still can get over the fact that someone said that I was running out of stories to write and Im now going to general issues...
I noticed that my jeans was getting kinda tight and my belly bulging out a little. Hmmm.... a sign. Maybe i should lose some weight. Was planning to go jogging when my colleague called me for basketball. Bring it on!
I changed to my 3/4 Army pants and my Sydney 2000 Olympic Games T-Shirt. Then I started digging though the store room for my Iverson basketball shoes. Found it all covered with dust and cobwebs. Finally, it shall see light again.
My colleague brought a flat ball that could hardly bounce. Couldnt pump it as we didnt have the pin. Anyway we went down to the court hoping to join the ppl there. Kept talking about our glorious times in the sport along the way. Reached the court. It was empty. Oh yeah! We are gonna rule the court. King of the court. Oh Yeah! Being professionals, we started doing our warm up and stretching. Soon, our bodies were warm and our spirits were running high. We entered the court majestically. I held the ball in my hand, held it up and aimed to shoot. The stance was perfect. The posture perfect. The wind gently carressed my face. It felt as if time stopped there.
======t i m e s t o p p e d==========
There was no rim.
We cursed and sweared all the way to the newly constructed court. There, two niggers were playing ball there. Really well built. Six pack abdomen, biceps that bulged and flexed when they jumped, shot and rebounded.
Laurent drooled. ===s i l e n c e===
We joined them for a game. My housemate and another chinese guy joined us. We were into the game for while. At one point of the game, the chinese guy attempted a shot. My eyes sparkled and in a flash, I was in the air just in front of him. Whacked the ball out of the air. A world class block. And at that moment, that very instant, god knows what he was doing. His hand came down and whacked me in the specs. It flew from my face and landed in front of me. The other half was still on my face. Blood dripped down from a cut just beside my left eye. Luckily he quickly apologised and was polite with it. More blood would have spilt if he was the rude or arrogant type. He offered me 50 bucks for it. Not too bad. Give and take.
We continued playing after that. Then when we were done, we went to the sauna. My first time in a sauna. Was really relaxing and felt great sweating that much. The only problem there was breathing. Not used to breathing in vapor. But it felt good. When i came out, i felt like sleeping. Hehe was quite a fun day.
All this while, my impression of this country's cops are those arrogant, ignorant big bellied doughnut munching apes who feed on bribe and laugh in the face of corruption.
But i guess i was just being blinded by this impression for quite some time. Well, cops as mentioned above do exist. Seen many cases before. But recently I found out that they arent as bad as i thought.
I was riding to K.L when suddenly the route seemed really unfamiliar. Well, it was my first time riding to KL. And theres so many routes and the traffic flow was a bit different. The weather was kinda dry and humidity was high. Even their driving style here was different. OKie...okie...I was lost.
Was riding directionlessly like a drunken cowboy on his old steed when I policeman stopped beside me at the traffic lights. Asked him for directions and he gladly answered me with a smile. Bless him!
The second time I rode to Kl again, I got lost again. Damn the weather. And i met some other cops and they were really helpful. From that day, my impression of them changed. They arent as bad as i thought.
I noticed that our newspaper publishes its stories based on trends. A while ago, the hot news were on rape cases. For a week or more, everydays paper was filled with rape cases and stuff. This was followed by the next hot topic - snatch thiefs. During this time, all the focus was on snatch thiefs and the rape cases just disapperared. And the most recent cases are murder cases. Almost everyday they will discover a new murder case. A few years back, murder cases were rarely in the papers. I wonder what is happening to Malaysia.
All sort of crimes are happening arond the country. Too many deaths...too many crimes. But I wonder why the sudden spike in crime rates?
If this carries on, I wonder what would this place be like in another 4-5 years. Firearms are legalised for civilian's safety? Civilians are given the right to carry out their own justice?
Okie...okie...Im just venting out my frustrations. I was given the job to complete a few hundred ads on my own. Aint worth my pay. Human rights!!! Even a part timer earn more than me. So im just wasting my time here complaning about the nations issues.
I returned home from work one day to find my aquarium lights off-ed. Suprised, i checked the timer. It was supposed to be on but it wasnt. I tried testing it here and there but it didnt work. Crap!! I bought it quite recently and it aint cheap. I asked my friend to check with his dad for a warranty.
Then i noticed another thing ... my 5 liter DIY CO2 bottle was filled to the brim. I only filled half of it before i departed for work. And i noticed my aquarium's water level slightly lowered. Crap! I plugged out the tube and it shot up like a fountain. Crap!!! Quickly moved it to my toilet leaving trails of sugar water. Sigh~! Pretty bad day.
My Aunt from Australia was in Malaysia. Havent seen her for 3 years. So the Teo family organized a small gathering at the ancestral home.
Boarded the bus to Malacca on a Saturday morning. Applied leave on that day and the idea of not doing any data entry on a Saturday really made my day. The trip seemed pretty short as I slept all the way. Felt good!
Called my cousin and he came to fetch me. Entered the land of the Teos. It's been a while. The dirt road was now a tar road and the paddy plot beside the ancestrals home has been filled up for the construction of my dad's new bungalow. They said we used 300 lorries to fill that paddy plot.
Met up with my aunt and her husband. This was the first time Im meeting him. My parents soon arrived and we chatted under a big "jambu" tree while muching on mangosteens and durians. The soft breeze and birds chirping made the atmosphere really relaxing and soothing.
Later that night, we went out for dinner at a place called Seafarers. A Baba-Nyonya restaurant owned by a relative of ours. It was located by the beach and the salty sea breeze was really nice. The atmosphere was good. We were entertained by a man singing oldies with his wonderful voice. A few people were on the dance floor dancing the twist. And the food was good. We had crabs, braised duck, ikan-bakar, vegetables and many more.
The next morning, we went out for breakfast. A famous stall selling noodles. It was a full house and we had to wait for our turn to eat. We ordered their specialty, spicy mee. It was good. Spicy fried noodles with prawns, and shredded onions and cucumber as the topping. Slurp! They say people from Singapore come all the way here for those noodles.
My parents left in the evening. I decided to stay another nite. I called up a few friends in Malacca and we went for dinner. Had the Malacca's trademark food - Satay Celup. The cold rain made the dish even more delicious. Chatting there for hours while dipping skewered meat and vege into a thick boiling pot of groundnut gravy.
Man...this trip seems like some food marathon for me. Makes me feel like organising a food expedition in a group. Anyone up to it? hehe
